As I have gotten older I have realized the importance of having a space that suits me. Interior design has inspired me, and it plays a big part in my life. I have always enjoyed going out to dinner at a nice bar or restaurant and pondered as to why? I found out it’s due to a few reasons.
The ambiance is at the top of the list. The way the space looks is equally as important as how the food tastes. I would feel this sense of ease which made me relaxed. I enjoy meeting with friends for dinner and sharing this experience with them. It’s something that is extremely calming and balancing. The lighting also plays a part. Quite understated yet affects your mood. If a space is bright, you may behave in a different manner. As opposed to if it was dimly lit. It comes down to how you feel, it’s part of the experience. Which led me to admire and appreciate. How can I incorporate these feelings and emotions in my home?
One thing that is imperative is being organized. If your home isn’t in order, you won’t be in a good headspace. I am still growing and learning as I too am a victim of clutter. I am doing my best to find more ways to be clutter free. It’s not easy as we tend to hold on to articles of clothing etc. It makes a difference when you arrive at home and it looks immaculate. You feel and act different. It lifts up your mood. When I wake up the first thing I do my bed. It’s a good way to start off the day. It gives you a sense of productivity to have checked off the first thing on your to-do list. Lastly, invest in things that make you feel good. From candles to silverware.
Due to my line of work and being an essential worker, I haven’t had the opportunity to be home as much. Therefore, when I am home. I try to enjoy my time as best as I know how. Here are a few things I enjoy doing while spending time at home.

Lately, I have enjoyed having fresh flowers & plants. I am learning how to take care of them. That is still a work is in progress.

I enjoy setting the tone at home with scents. One of my favorites are candles are from LeLabo . The importance of smell is crucial on how I have my home set up. I enjoy scents and it makes me feel relaxed and more at ease.

Coffee Table Books: Over the years I have noticed my interest in coffee table books. First started when I worked retail seeing coffee table books on style, photography and architecture. I would visualize myself in some of these photos. How I would feel. Coming from The Bronx it was so different to see this. I used it as a source of inspiration. I liked how I felt when I would scroll through the pages. You may find this strange but, I even enjoy the smell of fine paper. I also find it to be a great talking point if you have company over. And lastly, it makes the space a little more interesting. Here are some of my favorite coffee table books I own.
When I’m at home I enjoy walking around in new footwear. I tend to do this so I can break them in for when I’m ready to hit the city they feel a little more comfortable. I also enjoy cleaning and maintaining them. While playing music in the background usually Reggaeton or Bachata music!
